When you plug them in, they light up on both ends of the cord. The cord also has little lights through it. They do change colors slightly.
These light up phone chargers are pretty fun! The lights on the end make it so you can plug them in easily when it is dark. However, I wouldn't recommend sleeping with them next to your bed. They are rather bright when it's completely dark. They work great for both iPhones and iPads!
