Math Dice Chase Review

Math Dice Chase is a fun little math game. It comes with a rule book, four dice and a little bag.

Play is simple. Everyone sits in a circle. Give one set of dice to two people sitting across from each other. Both players roll their dice then call out the math problem. Example: the purple player would call out "6x4=24." If this is correct, they will pass the dice to the player to the left. If it's incorrect, someone can yell "Challenge" which stops all play. The challenger then says the incorrect equation, followed by the correct equation. If they challenger is correct, the player that said the incorrect equation is out for the round. If the challenger is incorrect, they are out for the round. You can only challenge the current equation.

Continue rolling, calling out the equation, then pass them to the left. If a player gets caught with both sets of dice, they are out. Keep going until there are two players left. Each player takes one die and rolls it. The two numbers are multiplied together. The player that calls out the correct answer first is the winner!

This is a great game to help kids learn math! I have changed it to just adding the two numbers together to help my five year old practice his math. My older two boys can use them for multiplication. With the set of two dice, they recommend you play with four to six players. You can add more players with more sets of dice which would be awesome for use in a school setting.

This game would be a great help for teachers, homeschooling, or anyone that has kids that love math or may need a bit of help learning. The dice are high quality, easy to read and big making it a great addition to any home or classroom.

I received the above item for free or reduced in exchange for my honest opinion.

Pandemic: The Cure Review

If you have played the popular co-op game Pandemic, there is now a dice version out, Pandemic: The Cure. I was rather excited to get this game. I loved playing Pandemic, but we don't like buying games that people we game with already have. So when this came out, I really wanted to give it a try.

Inside of the box, there's dice, discs, a dice bag and some cards.

Each player still gets a role card. Each roll has it's own set of dice that matches with their own special abilities on it.

This is your infection rate and outbreak track. The center is used as the treatment center.

You can buy event cards to help you along the way.

There are lots and lots of dice!

Set up is simple. Put the outbreak disc in the middle of the table. Place the syringe pegs into the 0 on the outbreak track and the standard difficulty on the infection rate. Put the region tiles in clockwise numerical order. Put the CDC disc, the event cards and the cured disease card where they can be reached. Place all forty eight infection dice in the bag and draw out twelve. Roll the twelve dice and put them on the region discs that match the number on the die. Shuffle the roll cards and pass them out. Place the matching player pawns on the disc with the one on it and give each player their matching dice. You are now ready to play.

On your turn, roll your dice. If you get a biohazard, move the peg in the infection rate one space for each one. These dice are now spent and can be set off to the side. You can re roll any unused dice, but must move the infection rate for each biohazard rolled.

The syringe side helps you to treat a disease. When you do this, you can place them into the treatment center or from the treatment center back into the bag.

The ship moves you to a region card that is on either side of the one you are on.

The airplane moves you to any other region.

The bottle allows you to bottle an infection die that is in the treatment center.

Each role has special abilities that are explained on their roll cards.

As you roll the biohazards and move the infection rate, whenever you pass the line into the next section, there is an epidemic. You roll all of the dice that are in the treatment center plus the number of dice shown on the track. The number of dice on the track is also the number of dice rolled at the end of each turn.

Anytime you roll the infection dice and get the plus, place it on the CDC disc. You use these dice to buy the event cards.

If you bottle up a sample from the treatment center, place it on your card with the bottle die on top. Those dice are now out of play until that disease is cured.

If you are on the same region, you can pass the bottled up disease back and forth.

To cure the disease, roll the infection dice you have collected. If you roll and they don't add up to thirteen, place them back on your card to try again on your next turn.

If they total thirteen or more, you have cured that disease. Pass the role dice back to the other players.

Once a disease is cured, place one of those colored dice on the cured diseases card. Take all of that color of dice from the treatment center and the ones you just rolled and place them back in the bag. Now when you treat this disease, instead of just moving one of that color to the treatment center or into the bag, you move all of that color on that region into the treatment center or from the treatment center into the bag.

An outbreak occurs when you have more than three of the same colored dice on any region. When this happens, move the outbreak track up one.

Take the extra dice (any that are over the three) and move them onto the next region. If this causes more than three of a color on the next region, it causes a chain reaction. Keep moving the dice until there are no more than three of the same colored dice on each region. Move the outbreak track for each outbreak that occurs.

The game ends in a couple of ways. If you find a cure for all four diseases, you have won! If the outbreak track or the epidemic track gets to the skull and bones, you have lost the game. If you run out of dice in the dice bag, too many people have been infected and you have lost.

I really like this game! I think it has a lot of the same feel to the Pandemic board game, but it's also different enough that it's not the same game. I love being able to roll the dice and then move around and do other stuff with more dice. I love dice games.

This game is great to play with people who enjoy playing games, but don't enjoy attacking things. Co-op games are also great for playing with children. A lot of the time you have to help them anyway. This way you can help guide them, but they can still have a choice of what to do. This game is pretty simple to understand and play which makes it a great game for a game night.

Face Off Dice Review

Since the Holidays are coming up and there will be gift giving, I decided I would share a game we love to play with our kids. Justice League Face Off Dice Game is a fun family game that you can play with however many people you'd like since you pass the dice around.

It has Batman on one side

And Joker on the other. It also comes with a nice lid so you can store the dice inside.

The dice have six pictures on each one. There are the Villains, Lex Luther and the Joker.

The other four sides have the heroes. Superman, Batman, Green Lantern and Flash.

To play, decide who goes first. Roll all five dice. You then decide if you are going Hero or Villain.

There are many different combinations you can try and get with your dice.

If you decide to go Villain, put aside the dice you want to keep. You can re-roll the remaining dice. When you roll it, keep it secret under the cup.

Peak at the dice and then the fun begins. You can decide to pick something you really have, or you can bluff. For example, here I can say I have a four Villain mix. You then go around the table and people can guess if you are bluffing or telling the truth.

If someone calls your bluff, reveal your dice. If you were bluffing, the player that called your bluff gets your points. If someone calls your bluff and you were telling the truth, you get double points. If no one calls your bluff, you do not have to reveal your dice.

If you roll the dice and you have more Heroes and decide to go for them, you can re-roll up to three dice.

There are a few different choices you can go for when going for Heroes. As you can see, they don't score as high.

You can push your luck and keep rolling the dice as many times as you would like. The only catch is, if you roll only Villains, your turn is over and you don't score any points. The first one to get to 250 points is the winner!

When we first bought this game, we were thinking it would be a fun one for our boys to play together. When the Hubby opened it, read the directions and then played through it once to teach them how to play, they all had a ton of fun. I decided I should try it too. I mean, who doesn't like to join in a game when everyone is laughing and having a good time?

The game was a lot of fun! There's a lot more in it then you would think. By the end of the game I couldn't tell if my boys were bluffing me or not. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not, but it made the game more challenging.

This game would be great for a stocking stuffer or a small gift. There are a few different versions. We've seen both Marvel and Star Wars ones. I think this game would be a great addition to any game collection.

Bang! The Dice Game

Bang! The Dice Game is a really fun party game for three to eight players.

Inside of the box, there are five dice, character cards, summary cards, tokens, a Sheriff card, two Deputy cards, two Renegade cards and three Outlaw cards.

The Character cards have special powers on them. Some hurt your opponents, but most of them help you.

The character card also shows you how many life points you have. Black Jack gets eight life points. The directions say to take the number of bullets that equal your life points. When you get hit, you put one of your bullets back into the middle of the table. However, we like to play it where you take a bullet when you get hit and once you have the same number of bullets as life points, you are out.

Shuffle the character cards and pass one out to each player. These cards are face up. Take a minute and have each player announce who they are and what their power is. Pull out the number of each Roll Player cards according to the number of players. Shuffle the Roll Player cards and deal one of those out to each player. These stay face down unless you are dealt the Sheriff card. The Sheriff announces who they are and adds two life points to their character. Also, give each player a summary card. This will help you know what your dice do.

The Dice:

If you roll three dynamite dice, your turn is over. You take one damage and then resolve the rest of your dice.

If you roll an arrow, immediately take one arrow for each arrow that is rolled. When all of the arrows are taken, the Indians attack and you take one damage for each arrow you have. After you take your damage, the arrows are put back into the middle of the table and the turn continues.

If you get the 1, you can hit either the person on your right or left. If you roll the 2, you can hit the person that is two away on either right or left. If you have multiple dice showing either the 1 or 2, you can hit the same person or split them up between both opponents.

If you roll the mug, you can heal as many hits as you have mugs. You can heal either yourself or an opponent. If you roll three gatling's, every other player takes a damage. You can now put all of your arrows back into the middle of the table.

On your turn, roll the dice. You can re-roll any dice you do not wish to keep. You can not re-roll the dynamite, unless that is your power.  You must also take an arrow immediately for each arrow rolled. You can then re-roll the arrow die if you wish. You get two re-roll's, then you must resolve your dice.

On this roll, I can hit someone on either side that is two away from me. I only got two dynamite so those don't do anything. I can also hit the person on either my right or left. Since I only got one gatling gun, that die doesn't do anything either.

You will keep going until either the Sheriff is eliminated or all of the Outlaws and Renegades are eliminated.
The Sheriff and Deputy are trying to kill the Outlaws and the Renegades.
The Outlaws are trying to kill the Sheriff and the Deputy
The Renegade is trying to kill everyone else.

We have had a lot of fun with this game! It's great for big gaming groups. It's fun trying to trick people into thinking you are on the same side to try and get them to help heal you. It's tricky being the Deputy because you want to heal the Sheriff but you don't really want everyone gaining up on you either. This game is easy to teach and plays pretty quick so it is a good filler game or you can play it multiple times. I would recommend adding this game to any game collection. We have had people that don't like party games, enjoy themselves playing this one.
